Les Gorges de l'Hérault
Saint Guilhem Le Desert
For this first collaboration between Intens’Events and I, we wanted something truly simple and timeless, with a natural sophistication but conveying strong values: sharing, friendship, love, generosity.
To shake things up a little, we decided not to focus on the regular wedding dinner table, but rather, an other part of the wedding reunion that everyone looks forward to: the day after wedding brunch.
Since we’re both based in France, (myself in Paris, and Intens’Events in Montpellier), we wanted to showcase the amazing areas that our country has to offer but aren’t so obvious, and we ended up picking “Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert”, medieval village between the Hérault river and the mountains, that is very picturesque with its old stone houses and narrow streets.
It’s also a stopoff on the way to St Jacques de Compostelle and we can find many symbols of this important pilgrimage all over the streets of the village.
In terms of colour palette, we chose organic and muted colours, that would fit the location as much as possible. The stationery is handmade by the talented Shasta Bell, which infuses the timelessness we wanted in this styled shoot. Regarding our tablescape, we chose a variety of noble material like silk, crystal glass,... paired with a vegetal and natural floral arrangement.
Last but not least, the area is well known for its hospitality, in order for this idea to come through our images, we decided to have organic foods from all the Languedoc Roussillon (region where the shoot is taking place): breads, cheese, wine, fresh fruits, tarts, cakes, all organized like a banquet with guests around the table.
